This popular medication has been featured in publications such as CNN, Vanity Fair, VICE, and Variety – often times referred to as the “skinny shot,” “weight loss injections,” or “Hollywood/celebrity secret weight loss drug.” Our medically supervised weight loss program is a safe and effective solution that will help you lose weight & keep it off. This program is an excellent option for both men and women.
One of the main goals of our medical weight loss program is to help people lose a significant amount of weight safely and sustainably. This can be particularly important for individuals who are obese or have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, as carrying excess weight can increase the risk of developing serious health conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers.
There are several approaches to medical weight loss, and the specific program that is right for you will depend on your needs and circumstances. Medical weight loss programs can effectively help people lose weight and improve their overall health. If you are considering a medical weight loss program, it is important to discuss your options with a healthcare provider to determine if it is the right approach for you. Our medical weight loss program in San Francisco is overseen by Dr. Usha Rajagopal and her Registered Nurse Alyssa Riscata.

What is GLP-1? How can it help with weight loss?
GLP-1 is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of obesity and weight management. It is a once-weekly injection that has been shown to be effective in helping people lose weight and keep it off.
GLP-1 works by increasing the feeling of fullness and decreasing appetite. It does this by activating receptors in the brain that are responsible for controlling hunger and satiety. This can help people to eat less and feel more satisfied after eating, which can lead to weight loss.
GLP-1 is typically used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is generally recommended for people who are obese or have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. It may also be used in people with a BMI of 27 or higher who have other weight-related medical conditions, such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure.
What are the benefits of GLP-1 ?
One of the main benefits of GLP-1 is that it has been shown to be effective in helping people lose a significant amount of weight.
“The Semaglutide Treatment Effect in People With Obesity (STEP) trials have shown the efficacy of semaglutide for the treatment of obesity. In large RCTs, patients receiving semaglutide, 2.4 mg, lost a mean of 6% of their weight by week 12 and 12% of their weight by week 28.” (Source)
It is important to note that GLP-1 is not a magic bullet for weight loss and should not be used as a substitute for a healthy lifestyle. It is meant to be used as part of a comprehensive weight management plan that includes a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Overall, GLP-1 is a promising medication for the treatment of obesity and weight management. It has been shown to be effective in helping people lose weight. If you are considering using GLP-1 for weight loss, it is important to discuss it with your healthcare provider to determine if it is the right treatment option for you.
